At today's meeting, the draw was made for the Victory Shield group stage.
Group A - Featherstone, Isleworth, Springfield, West Ealing Group B - Brentham, Ealing Central, Gunnersbury Park, North Greenford Clubs must arrange a fixture against the other clubs in their group, on which date they will play one rink home, one rink away. These group games MUST be played by Sunday 4th August. Before the season, clubs must advise the V.S. Secretary (Rob Green) of their fixtures. During the season, clubs must advise V.S.Sec of their results. CLUBS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR ENSURING THEIR OWN RESULTS ARE SUBMITTED. Winners and runners-up in each group will qualify for the Semi-Finals (to be played on Sunday 11th August). Semi-Finals winners will qualify for the Final (to be played on Saturday 17th August). Venues for the Semis and Final will be advised before the start of the season. The following divisions for 3-2-1 League 2019 were confirmed at today's meeting:
Division 1 - Ealing Central, Featherstone, Gunnersbury Park, Isleworth, Springfield Division 2 - Brentham, North Greenford, Pitshanger, West Ealing, West London Clubs must arrange home and away fixtures against the other clubs in their division. These can be played at any time during the season (obviously evening games are more tricky in September owing to light). Before the season, clubs must advise League Sec (Rob Green) of their fixtures. During the season must notify League Sec of their results. IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EACH CLUB TO ENSURE THEIR RESULTS ARE SUBMITTED. The timetable for this weekend's Competition Semi Finals has been finalised.

It should be noted that West Ealing have qualified for the Bowls England Top Club Quarter Finals to be held at Leamington Spa on September 15th and !6th. This is obviously the same weekend as E&DBA Finals. Any issues this may cause will be dealt with by Comp.Sec. Bob Worley once results of all E&D semi finals are known. Ealing Central United are the new holders of the Victory Shield.

All rounds up-to-and-including the semi finals will be played on that day, with the final taking place with all the finals of the other competitions on September 16th. Ealing Central overcame Brentham 46-20, whilst Gunnersbury Park beat Springfield 43-30. The final will take place at Ealing Central. For full details of the semi finals, click here. After a late rush of group matches in advance of the closing date, we now know who will take part in the semi finals of the Victory Shield this Sunday (12th August). The matches, which will be played at Springfield (10:00am start), will be as follows:
Ealing Central v Brentham Springfield v Gunnersbury The winners of these ties will meet in the final on Sunday 19th August at Ealing Central United. E&DBA would like to wish bowlers from member clubs good luck at the Middlesex Men's Finals Day to be held at Hendon this Sunday, July 29th. They are as follows:
9:30am - Rosedale - Double Fours (v Poplar) 9:30am - S.Medhurst, R.Innes, J.Carey & P.Cater (W.Ealing) - Senior Fours (v Hendon) 11:15am - C.Ryan (W.Ealing) - Under 25 Pairs 2:00pm - J.Fisher (Rosedale) - Unbadged (v Paddington) 2:00pm - R.Green, C.Hill & B.Wheeler (W.Ealing) - Triples (v Ashford) E&DBA got a rare win in their annual fixture against Swindon & District B.A. The margin was a single shot, but that didn't dampen President Bob Worley's delight at the victory.
